It’s critical to set up your organization to successfully support queer employees prior to recruitment and hiring. In this conversation, B (he/they) and Jamie (they/them) take an in-depth look into queer inclusion in the workplace! As a group, we’ll discuss queer-inclusive policy development, share real life examples of problematic situations, chat about the small changes that make a world of difference to sexual and gender diverse employees, and leaders’ roles in creating inclusive work environments. Then we’ll wrap up with a discussion about accountability and how to measure success – without all the numbers.
Learning Objectives
Following this fireside chat, attendees will:
1. Understand the importance of intentional queer-inclusive policy making
2. Identify solutions for common incidents of queer exclusion and discrimination
3. Be able to discuss the roles of leaders when maintaining a culture of inclusion
