Jumpstart Refugee Talent is hosting a 1-hour introductory workshop designed to help settlement agencies, employers, and municipalities better understand the benefits of the Refugee Hiring Event Model and the steps to hosting one in your community. The training is sponsored by the Refugee Jobs Agenda Roundtable and offered in partnership with World Education Services (WES) and Starbucks Foundation.
The Refugee Hiring Event is not a traditional job/career fair. This model is a powerful means of bridging refugee talent with meaningful employment with outcomes that are 10 to 15 times greater compared to traditional job fairs. The Hiring Event model stands out because of four key features: collaboration, employer selection, pre-screening, and an action-oriented emphasis.
